These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of QAlchemy, a local-first desktop application for QA engineers. By downloading, installing, or using QAlchemy, you agree to these Terms.
1. The application
QAlchemy generates QA analysis and test cases from requirements you provide, using an AI model provider you configure yourself (bring-your-own-key). QAlchemy also includes a set of offline utilities (the QA Toolbox) that run entirely on your device without any AI or network calls.
2. Your workspace and data
Your requirements, generated test suites, execution history, and evidence attachments are stored locally on your device in a workspace you control. You are responsible for backing up your workspace and for the security of your own device.
3. Third-party AI providers
When you use Generate, the requirement text you provide is sent directly from your installation of QAlchemy to the AI provider you configured (for example, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or a self-hosted Ollama server), using your own API key. Your use of that provider is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. QAlchemy is not a party to that relationship and does not see, store, or resell your provider credentials or requests.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use QAlchemy to process content you do not have the right to submit to a third-party AI provider.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the application without authorization.
- Do not use QAlchemy in a way that violates applicable law.
5. Disclaimer of warranty
AI-generated test cases, risk assessments, and coverage analysis are provided as a starting point and may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before relying on it for release decisions. QAlchemy is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, QAlchemy and its creator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the application, including losses resulting from AI-generated content or third-party provider outages.
7. Independent project
QAlchemy is built and maintained independently. There is no dedicated support team or service-level agreement; support is provided on a best-effort basis through the contact channel below.
8. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the application after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
9. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be directed through the creator's profile linked on the About page.
